Jacksonville Strings was founded by Jessie Polanis, a
professional violinist whose training includes receiving her
Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from
Jacksonville University and her Master of Music degree in
Strings from Florida State University. Jessie has extensive
performance experience as a soloist, small ensemble
musician, orchestral musician and session player. During
her career, she has performed with a variety of noted
musicians including Bobbie McFerrin, Ricky Skaggs and
Sleeping At Last and is proficient in a number of musical
styles. She has also performed with many orchestras,
including the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra, North Florida
Symphony Orchestra and Valdosta Symphony Orchestra.
Through her work as a freelance musician, Jessie has also had
the opportunity to work with some outstanding local
musicians. She founded Jacksonville Strings with these
connections in mind, enabling her to contract only
highly-trained, top-quality local musicians for every event.
